I was talking on MSN with a VP from India, and he asked me whether we had anyone from our side who had gone to India for a CEED or internship. Well, we didn't. And when he asked me why do I think noone wants to go there, I said that there might be few reasons for that: parents, question of safety, and some other preferences (for a variety of reasons). But these are all my suggestions. He answered that India IS a safe country and then I started thinking about what we really know and how we can really judge a country or how it would be like for us there if we don't even know anything about it.

Well I wanted to ask you what are the reasons for which you chose or will be choosing the country you go for an internship to? Will you be guided by the real need of the country? Or by your personal development? Or by the projects or job descriptions? What would be your priorities when choosing?

I guess people do not go to these countries simply because they have no real connection to them. If we had more trainees, or international MC members, or any other personal connection to the country representatives, it would be much easier. I guess also travelling expenses are an issue, and also the fact that we are not promoting the multinational opportuniteis which exist in India, as well as INdia as the world's next leader.Good luck in improving this! You can do it! (especially since some of us have been to India already)

When i think of going abroad, i think of the following:
- culture difference with my own: more different-better
- is there a lot to discover for me yet?Breaking stereotypes etc?
- How would i feel there
..Somehow cultural things come first. I am going for self-dveelopment.
then comes professional development - what kind of opportunities are there, how is it related to my fututre development plans etc.
So basically any Country can be attractive if it offers ood opportunites. and then for any country you can find someone who'd like to go there.
The matter is - people, and @ers - still follow their own stereotypes, and dont know more than that. It is all teh matter of promoting right opportunities for right people.
